    WIZO México se creó en 1938 a partir de la reunión de un grupo de damas sefaradies interesadas en replicar el trabajo que llevaba la WIZO internacional creada en 1920. Para 1940 se aliaron con un grupo de damas de la comunidad ashkanazí para poder hacer su trabajo comunitario en México e Israel.
